Agreed. And we should also devote extra resources into improving our shameful education system, and in particular to the teaching of such basic writing skills as the use of paragraphs.

So now the house of commons has turned into a house of who is the best looking! No wonder the old age pensioner and the critically ill NHS is in deep manure. If members of parliament are to be chosen on looks alone there is really no hope of pulling Britain out of the present mess. Riots in London from extremist groups, life saving drugs refused to patients with life threatening complaints - because of cost, criminals rewarded with shorter sentences, lap of luxury treatment in prison. Police forces under constant pressure to be politcally correct even though such protocol would hamper the way of policing. White people having less rights in their own country, early morning assembly abandoned so that the minority religious groups are not offended, and terrorist roam the streets of britain with immunity. And guess what we are concerned with, who is the best looking members of the house of commons. Britain is no longer the land that my forefathers fought and died for. We are a mockery all around the world. When are the government of the day going to address the real issues and forget the popularity contest. Re-introduce morning assembly - remember we are a christian country and as such we should not be made to feel ashamed of this belief. Issue tougher sentences to extremist and other law breakers, murders should serve life sentences and that means never coming out again - only in a coffin. Keep our noses out of the middle east, the people over there do not want us nor will they ever adopt the type of democracy that is in the western world. The money that is wasted on fruitless wars should be spent to make the lives of the people of Britain more comfortable and to strengthen our defences against the enemy within. A sound immigration and deportation policy should be formulated and installed and the government should withdraw from the human rights treaty as this is used by evil individuals to promote their case whilst denying the great british people of their human rights. Finally terrorist that commit acts of terror that results in the loss of human life should be executed and not jailed. Therefore, if the government of the day does not address the current injustices and situations that the British people are subjected to, the BNP will gain in strength and popularity, and all those who are old enough will remember the immortal words of Mr Enoch Powell - it sounded offense and far fetched way back when he first utter that statement, but time is gradually proving him to be a man of vision. So forget the beauty parade and concentrate on the quagmire that the country is sinking into.

caroline flint for sure, but only with Blue underwear!!

Gordon Brown is by far and away the single best looking man I've ever laid eyes on. I don't get to see much of the other MP's except during the Prime Minister's Questions on CSPAN. However, from what I've seen, I'd look no further than Gordon Brown - he's one hot daddy!
Posted by: Candace USA 19 Feb 2006 05:09:42
no Tony Blair? hmmm, strange... but no cameron or gordon either so the PM doesnt have to worry! LOL Yes, Looks do help in politics but lets see if these top 10 nominees can deliver their pledges also!

Dear Maurice from Northumberland:
I assure you - there is nothing wrong with opticians in Canada. Your scathing comments are outrageously funny, but you haven't changed my mind one iota:
Gordon Brown and Ed Miliband are gorgeous. Better than anything we've got over here.
Posted by: Bonnie Shulman 17 Feb 2006 14:24:05
Caroline Flint #1......Who would need anymore after her?
Posted by: Ian..China 16 Feb 2006 08:53:24
Something wrong in the opticians in Canada.
G. Brown, do you think his nickname 'Prudence' is anything to do with money?
As for Miliband - good grief, the guy had never ever left school before becoming an MP.
His brains are the same as his brother, still stuck in the debating rooms of a university. We now have Milibabble 1 and Milibabble 2. It's a two for one offer, please take it to Canada, you might think it's first prize, it's not it's the 3rd.
1st None, 2nd - one, 3rd you get both, 4th you get Ed Balls thrown in.

This list is way off base, missing two critical components.
First: GORDON BROWN. Nobody is hunkier, and I mean nobody, do you hear me David Cameron?
Second: Ed Miliband. Nothing sexier than brains, and the MP from Doncaster is well equipped in that area. Quite cute too. Actually, extremely cute. Single, too, I understand, and just my age. Oh my.

No one has mentioned the delectable Diane Abbott, a view to behold on the sofa with Michael Portaloo every Thursday and what about that handsome devil Bob Marshall-Andrews... there again, perhaps on second thoughts?!?
Posted by: Alan C 15 Feb 2006 13:47:55
Are some people getting very desperate out there? What a bunch of ugly MPs, fanciable? Don't make me laugh
Posted by: James UK 15 Feb 2006 13:21:25
Um - we seem to be overlooking the delights of Mr Cameron and Mr Osborne here - probably the best two ever to be on the front benches?
Posted by: Katy TR London 15 Feb 2006 11:22:40
Jo Swinson is a total doll. Lovely smile and a beautiful face. Just a pity her politics are so middle of the road - unlike her looks!
Posted by: Bunter, Greenock 15 Feb 2006 10:15:52
Theresa May is the best of a poor lot.
As for Caroline Flint, she looks like she needs (and is waiting for) a slap!
[As for the poor lady who says she looks the the Booth woman, God you have my sympathy!]
Posted by: fluffy 15 Feb 2006 02:59:24
By the way, your photograph of the inestimable Mz. Flint isn't the most flattering is it?
Looks like she's just been told by a party whip that her commons parking bay has just been allocated to Patricia Hewitt's secretary.
Is that when you snapped it?
Posted by: Ed Ward, South Africa 14 Feb 2006 20:24:25
Caroline Flint is without doubt the prettiest MP, brains and beauty, what a combination!
Better watch your backs TB and GB.

That picture of Tony Blair with his top off in last year's HEAT magazine was the hottest picture i'd seen all year...
He has to be number one!!!
Posted by: sarah, london 14 Feb 2006 16:50:53
Ben Bradshaw, Alan Milburn, Adam Afriyie, Kim Howells, Sadiq Khan etc. is there something your not telling us ADAM?
Posted by: Maurice - Northumberland 14 Feb 2006 16:24:03
Kim Howells? It's Valentine's Day, not April Fool's Day.
Posted by: Barb Garner, Sussex 14 Feb 2006 15:38:13
Who made up this stupid list? I mean you have Teresa May as number nine, I would definetly put someone else in this place maybe the Beautiful Dawn Butler MP (Brent South) Why you have Kim Howells at number 4 is beyond comprehension. Alan Milburn is truly laughable. What are you trying to say about British politics that we have no good looking representatives? More importantly only two people on you list where from ethnic minority groups, now what does that say for your list and British politics?
Posted by: tooting 14 Feb 2006 15:33:33
I think the hottest MP EVER has to be Tony Blair........I look like him, some say I look like Cherie but either way, he rocks my world!
Posted by: Tabrett, Romford 14 Feb 2006 15:31:45
Caroline Flint is not only beautiful but she has a very attractive personality and seems to have strong leadership qualities too. Caroline flint for PM!
Posted by: Steve, York 14 Feb 2006 15:10:13
Alan Milburn is gorgeous!!
Although I think Tony Blair and Geoff Hoon should have been in the top 2..
Adam Rickitt is nice too but he's a Tory, could never go for a Tory!
Posted by: sarah, London 14 Feb 2006 14:49:17
Top Ten most fanciable MP's, Where's John Prescott in that line up? From a modeling point of view I don't think any of them should give up their day jobs. On the other hand most of them are not really capable of that either.
Now Margaret Thatcher, she was top totty in her time.
Posted by: John Sherman, Kent 14 Feb 2006 14:46:13
Ah well, since old Portaloo's gone there's not really anybody decent left these days. I've been told that Gordon Brown's a bit of a hunk in the flesh, and you know that Cameron made it into the top 100 sexiest men don't you? As for the girlies - well they're all a bit masculine for my tastes - all those big shoulder-pads and giant egos. But now then Adam, if *you* were to become an MP it'd be another matter entirely...
Posted by: Rosie, London 14 Feb 2006 14:33:01
Oh, I forgot to mention my son (28) reckons Caroline Flint is (I quote) "Hot".
Naturally, I explained that she is also the exponent of an evil neo-fascist regime in the United Kingdom (New-Labour).
Kids huh!

Adam, "Betty Boothroyd" remains the butchest and most desirable of Commons' fanciable. Well she did keep all the "Cheyneys" in place! Seriously though, Aye know Sky provide Digital Quality picture and sound, but can you imagine the political correctness whilst in chambers on St Val's night????????
Admirer; Ahh my lovely betty, I have a St Val's card for you!
Betty: Order, Order, Order, the right honourable member for Essex will refrain from using the word Aah.
Admirer; But Darling, you make my blood boil?
Betty: Order, Order, Order
Admirer: Dinner and perhaps an after eight?
Betty: All those in favour say Aye!
Admirer: But Betty I want you to myself?
Betty: House Rules.....were off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard named Rob! House Suspendered until further notice!
Admirer: Oooohhhhhhhh betty, can we talk about the rock afterwards!
Posted by: Khalid 14 Feb 2006 12:53:39
Are you kidding? Surely we are not allowed to comment on MPs with regard to whether they are fanciable, in this age of bland and boring. Doing so is almost certainly tantamount to some kind of PC offence of sexual molestation. So, Adam, watch out, the PC police will be knocking on your door.
Posted by: James Matthews, Warminster 14 Feb 2006 11:53:14
Adam Rickett of course! Or has he not yet joined the tory party? Either way, him!
