Lock up your daughters and detain your sons without charge - here come Sky's highly anticipated Most Fanciable MPs of 2008!!
This year's list was voted for by the MPs themselves. And boy, what a selection...
In at the top, a new entry - the Shadow Culture Secretary Jeremy "always on the" Hunt. Not sign of his opposite number, Andy "so hot I" Burnham, much to the chagrin of certain colleagues in the Sky office.
The Liberal Democrats take the title of sexiest party, without the help of the Cheeky girls. Five of the ten mouth-watering Members come from their ranks (oh, if only their political approval ratings were so high).
And at number eight, their top man takes pole position among the party leaders. Ladies, say goodbye to Calamity Clegg, say hel-lo... to Centrefold Clegg.
But big disappointment for Caroline Flint - last year at number two, this year nowhere to be seen.
Attending Cabinet clearly does nothing for your sex appeal. Indeed, no Cabinet ministers make it on to the list. Power an aphrodisiac? Not for MPs, it seems.
Okay - the 2008 Top Ten Most Fanciable MPs list is as follows (last years result in brackets):
1. (-) Jeremy Hunt, 41, Conservative, Surrey South West
2. (1) Julie Kirkbride, 47, Conservative, Bromsgrove
3. (-) Julia Goldsworthy, 29, Lib Dem, Falmouth and Cambourne
4. (-) Jenny Willott, 33, Lib Dem, Cardiff Central
5. (7) Lynne Featherstone, 56, Lib Dem, Hornsey and Wood Green
6. (-) Edward Garnier, 55, Conservative, Harborough
7. (-) Angela E. Smith, 49, Labour, Basildon
8. (3) Nick Clegg, 40, Lib Dem, Sheffield Hallam
9. (-) Jo Swinson, 28, Lib Dem, Dunbartonshire East
10. (5) Shahid Malik, 40, Labour, Dewsbury

Does anybody know where I can purchasr parliamentary make up?
I'm looking for a good men's mascara and a little blusher.
I'm told that more than the average take of women go for men who wear mascara and I'm also told that men that would never give you a secong glance, actually take a first glance.
In politics, all votes count.
Desperate times call for desperate mesures and I'm not at all convinced that wearing these tights has done anything for me at all.

I too like Caroline Flint. Not sure why, but everyone else seems too.
Think its because she wears lees make up than Andy Burnham, a bit more than steven pound but nowhere near as much as George Osborne (on saturday nights)

It's true, Julie Kirkbride is an absolutely gorgous woman!
I'd like to see Lynne jones on the list as well - good looking AND genuinely conscientious.
I can also find Caroline Flint quite attract at times, too - usually when she's not defending her Government's idiocy.

Isn't Andy Burnham the one who wears girls make-up?
I'm told he carries his own mascara. Has Joey Jones got five minutes, doing nothing here?
I'm still putting Harriet out at number one. She's a doll.
Believe me, that's enough to get you excommunicated in the LP. They still threaten to sue you if you open a door for them (I'm on about Burnaham's mascara, here)
I'm a bit uneasy about Stven Pound wearing a dress when he's not on camera. I keep hearing rumours.

What about Ed Vaizey? Good looking, and funny!

As a Liberal Democrat, I am pleased that the party's MPs did so well.
And it was the right decision on Caroline Flint. I really don't see it myself.

Where oh where is the gorgeous Ed Miliband? He is quite obviously the sexiest MP ever. Gorgeous eyes, sexy smile and impeccably dressed. Enough said.

Julien
Your post reminds me of a compliment my DH received from one of his colleagues : "You are the only man I know who doesn't stare at my 'bits' and always looks me in the eye when you are speaking to me".
I am so glad I am a woman and in control of my own brain.
Many men allow themselves to be ruled by another part of their anatomy.

Caroline Flint and Julie Mcbride without doubt.

where are the miliband brothers? ? ?

AS some of the above, Caroline Flint should be in the top 10, even the top 1.

There should be a chest Olympics in the Commons. I predict a titanic battle between Theresa May and Jacqui Smith!
Posted by: Julian The Wonderhorse 14 Feb 2008 14:13:11
Where's Teresa then?

Andy Burnham and James Purnell should definitely be in there at the top in the men's section.
Becoming a Minister seems to be the same as moving for childhood to adolescence - you turn from angel to devil, otherwise Caroline Flint would be on the list.
Big relief that Theresa May isn't on the list - especially since she started doing the rock-chick version of Norma Desmond with her rather tacky leather jacket and over the knee boots.
James Hunt has got Dr Spocks ears and a bit of a gormless look to me.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say" - sure does - imagine the voters were over 40s and have a high percentage of people who wear glasses among them!
Andy should have been the top choice - boo hiss!

What about Daniel Kawczynski? He is a god

ANDY BURNHAM IS BY FAR THE SEXIEST MP INTHE HOUSE AND IF MPS CANT SEE THAT OR POLITICAL COMMENTATERS FOR THAT MATTER,CANT SEE THAT IT JUST PROVES HOW OUT OF TOUCH THET ARE WITH
REALITY.

What happened to Caroline Flint? She won it by a leg, not long go.
Julie Kirkbride? Isn't she the scatterbrain who laughs at everything she says. Funny she should do that.....
Andy Burnham? Isn't he the real Scott Tracy, of Thunderbird 1 fame?
Julia Goldsworthy, isn't she the swimmer who's in a party that's drowning?
Harriet isn't going to like this list after coming in first for the DL contest.
But I'd put her in top spot this year. She has smiling eyes that says, 'trust me, my husband is an accountant for a political party'.
I'm sold.
Nope.

If it was a vote Buff or Rough - all bar one would ROUGH! perhaps they should stick with politics or as long as we let them.
Posted by: jaybs 14 Feb 2008 11:51:08
Typical for a party without politics the legacy remains as love more often than not is blind. Any way, you forgot [Jocelyn Brown] or is she [Somebody Else's Guy]?
Posted by: Khalid 14 Feb 2008 11:41:15
I cant stand her poliices, but Caroline Flint is a fox.........
Posted by: The Boy, St Albans 14 Feb 2008 10:48:30
Nadine Dorries and Caroline Flint are the hottest totty in Westminster. Your poll is seriously suspect as neither of them are on it.
Posted by: Matt 14 Feb 2008 10:15:52
Some people may be attracted by power, as you state Peter (Fife). Me, nah! Would take a heavy drinking session to be attracted to some of those ladies....
Posted by: Fluffy, London, England 14 Feb 2008 10:06:31
If 'power' is attraction (but good taste is), Gordon Brown should be on the number one list, whilst Julie Kirkbride not even making it on the top ten list.
Posted by: Peter Chuah, Birmingham 14 Feb 2008 09:46:00
This listing surely stands to disprove psychologist’s regular claims that there is a link between power and attraction as this is no more than a list of powerless wannabes; although this poll does stand in testimony that the views of the majority of our MPs are polarised from what are most commonly described as normal people.
Although it it is worthy of note that number ten on the most fancied list, Malik, Shahid is number one on the most expenses claimed list with £185,42; I wonder if they claimed postage on their votes or did they get a family member to deliver their preferences?
