To cut or not to cut taxes - that is the dilemma Adam put to the Shadow Leader of the Commons Theresa May.

She insisted the Conservatives would put stability of the economy before any reduction in taxation.

Tsering Tashi - the London spokesman for the Tibetan government in exile - said many people have been killed in Tibet during the uprising against Chinese rule.

He said any attacks on ethnic Chinese were regrettable.

Former Liberal Democrat Leader, and ex-Olympic athlete, Sir Menzies Campbell warned that a boycott of the Beijing Olympics could backfire and lead to London 2012 being snubbed.

The Mayor of London Ken Livingstone insisted he was worth another term in the capital's top job and could beat the tory contender Boris Johnson.

Sky's very own Paul Harrison spoke about his new book 'Hunting Evil' on the Suffolk murders.

He and criminologist David Wilson have co-authored the book and believe Stephen Wright has probably killed other women.

Adam also interviewed Lebanese actress Nada Abou Fahat about her new film 'Under the Bombs' which was filmed in Lebanon during Israel's war with Hizbollah.

Lib Dem MP Lembit Opik crowed about Wales' victory in the Six Nations rugby union and Lewis Hamilton's win in the Melbourne Grand Prix - both sports he is mad about.

Andy Gray predicted Manchester United would clinch the Premiership title - but only just.

The papers were reviewed by Andrew Neil and Michelle Henery.

I quite like Boris. If he becomes Mayor of London it will not affect me in any way but just to see the end of the sour face of Ken Livingstone would be a pleasure.

I doubt whether Boris will run a better administration but it will less corrupt and less centred on issues that most Londoners find unimportant, such as Venezuala, Cuba and direct bribes to black politicians.

Boris is not anti-Semitic and as Jews have made huge contributions to the material wealth and cultural life of London they will be relieved to see the end of this demagogue.

An investigation into the ways in which the congestion levy money is spent would also be useful. It certainly does not produce the promised benefits to public transport.

A few other issues might receive attention such as the fact that 17-18 year old students do not receive free bus passes. They end at age 16 and the logic of that, whilst a government wants every 17 - 18 year old to be in further education, is difficult to understand.

Jim Mcleod,
What is your problem, you obviously can't take your party's meltdown in office.

So I was "naive" last Friday & now I am a "child", I am perfectly relaxed thanks very much.

You really are in your own little world.

I know the Labour party don't like hearing the truth but that is your problem.

I certainly know my local politics better than you but you can't stand to hear the truth.

Stephen Williams 17 Mar 2008 16:06:54

What an uptight sort of child you are. Try relaxing a bit and make less effort to create an impact.
Do you spend all day and every day singing the Tory praises?
When do you ever get any homework done?
BTW nothing stronger than a good old fashioned cup of tea is what I am on.
What are you on?
Ovaltine?

Sorry should have read, The Tories left Croydon 3 million in the black when they were voted out in 1994.

Jim Mcleod,

2 years with Boris as Mayor of London and the whole country will be able to see that the Tories in power are a damn sight better than Red Ken could have ever hoped to have been.

You know full well that you don't have to wait 2 years with Boris as Mayor of London; you only have to look at Tory run councils that keep council tax rises down way below previous Labour rises.

My council for example which is Tory run Croydon council have just raised the council tax bill by only 3.13% which is a lot less than when Croydon was run by Labour up until May 2006. Labour used to raise it by 4.5%-6% regularly; we even suffered a 27.3% rise back in 2003. The Tories left Croydon 3 billion in the black when they were voted out in 1994, Labour left Croydon 27 million in the red when voted out in May 2006.

Tory councils are run more effiently & cost you far less on your council tax; you also only have to look at Westminster, Wandsworth & Bromley to name a few. The fact is that the Tories are the biggest party in local government which will increase even more after this year’s local election in May when Labour will lose hundreds of councillors & even more councils.

Madnurse,

I agree, it is a small sacrifice to make in order to get rid of the cancer that is Red Ken who has been eating away at and destroying our once great capital.

Personally I think that the London Mayor should be limited to 2 terms of office simply to stop any one individual becoming too ingrained into the system & Red Ken is a prime example, I say that regardless of the political persuasion of the individual, 8 years of Tory Mayor of London rule by Boris will be required to turn London back around after Red Ken’s damage.

The expected Tory win in the race to become Mayor of London will of course be the perfect springboard for Labour being wiped out at the next general election; likewise the country will need a long run of Tory governance to wipe out Labour damage as was the case in 1979.

Boris 49%
Livingstone 37%
Brian Paddick 12%
It also shows Boris getting more second preference votes, 20%, than Livingstone, 17%

Please let this poll be correct. This is the best news that the Labour party has had in years.
2 years as Mayor of London and the whole country will be able to see what the Tory's in power look like.

Stephen Williams:

Yes, My loss, your gain. It is a small sacrifice to make in order to rid the capital of the cancer known as Livingstone that has been eating away at and destroying our once great capital.

As I have previously stated on this blog, I hope the local Conservative Association will be able to decide their own candidate on the grounds of merit rather than, have a candidate pushed on them by Mr Cameron on the grounds of race or gender just so that he appears modern and inclusive.

Madnurse,

Your will soon be losing your local MP as Boris Johnston is now 12% ahead of Ken Livingstone in the latest London Mayoral opinion poll released in today's Evening Standard.

The latest poll findings show Boris is on 49% (up 5%) & Ken Livingstone is on 37% (down 2%) so the obvious trend is support rising for Boris & dropping for Ken, Boris will get my vote in the London Mayoral election to get rid of Ken, unfortunately for you he won’t get your vote at the next general election as you have said previously that he has been a very good local MP for your area.

I sincerely hope that you get a very good replacement MP for Boris once he has resigned the seat to be sworn in as the new Mayor of London.

Ken Livignston has always been a whining, moaning, leftist numpty and he will never change and neither will London if he's part of it.

His own self importance is all he's about and cares about nothing except holding on to his job at the cost of London pride.

He should resign and call it a day along with all the other longhorned Labourites who have long past their day and ran out of any feeling for the people of London years ago.

What an interesting day this has truned out to be at the [Ministry] of Sunday Roast. Ths far as Ken and his humble desire to stay anothr term, no matter [What He Say] Boris will be there to add much to the amusement surounding the validity of many an environmental expense. But as Theresa May said, politicians say and promise the earth, but can never be sure they can deliver. Roll on May 1st!!!!!!

Once again Livingstone has planned celebrations for St. Patrick's Day a pity Adam didn't ask him what he plans to do for St. George's Day

Can Kenny confirm that in general terms it is fair to conclude that most Leftwing groups gravitate towards Islam, and by definition Anti-Semitic?

He might also like to give the low down on why he detests the indigenous population and favours any ethnic group over them.

Also why does he feel the need to invite those who want us dead to London[stan]. Thank God he wasn't around when Adolf wanted to visit!

Finally, does he have any idea what the ideology of Islam is?

Have a good show!

Adam
Please ask him why he has done little for boroughs that are not Labour controlled. The new eco houses he keeps promising!! who are they mean't for? people in inner boroughs don't want to move out, away from family, friends, and often their culture. They want their existing area regenerated, with green areas reclaimed. Good schools, reasonable priced rental property of good quality, people who think they have something to be proud of, usualy fight and look after it.. THAT would happen with some of the inner boroughs. Crime would be reduced and criminals driven out, with the residents controling the streets and not the criminals. The criminals would move to areas of easier pickings. The only thing I have noticed Livingston has done is the congestion charges and massive expences in keeping him and his many many followers in well paid jobs. Ask him to name 1. inner london borough he has regenerated to give a better life for its residents. Any good mayor would be getting massive input of resourses from the ruling goverment. The better their lives become the goverment would benifit because more people will vote for them.

Not being a supporter of either of the candidates for London Mayor I do think interviews such as will happen on the programme must present more of an advantage to Ken Livingston than his opponent as Mr Livingston does display the ability to speak in comprehensive ‘joined up’ sentences.

I would like to ask if Red Ken and Theresa May, know what is happening to British Politics now days? Why are MP's acting like Mafia Dons, and fraudsters? Why are MP's creaming of the tax payer, claiming expenses for luxary items from John Lewis? Do they really think they have a right to spend the publics money on such items? For good old Joe Public if they want to buy something from any shop it comes out of their wages, so what gives them the right to rob the public purse whenever they fancy a shopping spree?

As a Ex Tax payer of the country, paying the top level of tax before I left, I find it totally discusting.

can adam ask him why such a vile evil left wing racist wonts to become mayor again and tell ken to keep a straight face when he tells us crime is falling can adam also ask him if sir ian blair would be better suited as a lollypop man and is it true john prescott is selling hotdogs in hull and if so can ken join him to fry the onions
