Sky's Miranda Richardson (who's our Queen of the Web when she's not appearing on Blackadder!) was walking to Westminster tube accompanied by Five News Political Editor Andy Bell when they came upon an extraordinary sight: The Mayor of our great city being accosted by four men who it seems were less than happy with his record in office.
Miranda tells me it turned a bit ugly when the four began pushing poor Ken and trying to grab his bag.
Our intrepid two intervened - with, it must be admitted, some help from members of Her Majesty's Constabulary. Indeed, within a few minutes, several police panda cars and motorbikes were on the scene - being right outside Parliament, there are plenty of them around.
Brian Haw, the veteran anti-war protestor and Parliament Square resident (literally) took some pictures. So too did Andy Bell.
Boris Johnson was NOT in the vicinity!

Despite his misgivings, such actions are not to be promoted as we all know its a [Lonely] life being at the top, despite it being termed as [Akon].

I suppose you've noticed that Whining KL has 50% of the topics on here at the moment ?
I mean I'd hate anyone to get the wrong impression that Sky is in any way biased in his favour. Heaven forbid people might think that !

Ahhhhh...poor Ken I hope the four men all had an Equity card.

While I hate Red Ken with a passion, I would have helped him out.
Was this a stunt for the sympathy vote and will the culprits be charged with cruelty to newts

T. England,
Tell me what Labour politician does live in the real world because in their world everything is perfect with no crime & the shop prices they pay don't go up as they have done for the rest of us.
The Labour bloggers on this site obviously use the same shops as well where inflation is not an issue with rising prices, when they get to the check outs they must claim that rising prices don’t affect them & so they pay different prices to the rest of us.
Ken got a real world experience for once, good.

I would hazard a guess that it wasn't some of Kens religious multicultural friends who wanted to connect with him!
I take it was indiginous Londoners living in the real world who wanted to tell red Ken about it as he doesn't seem to live in it!!!!!!!

I love it, Ken's scarf this time providing no protection!

I just get the feeling that the arguments against Ken Livingstone must be weak when weighed against the arguments for Boris Johnston, when individuals feel the need to move from the first indicator of having lost the argument, verbal abuse, to the second indicator physical abuse.
Well done to you ‘Queenie’ and to your boys in blue.
PS. Nice photo Andy; was your camera set to infinity?

Spider woman and Batman to the rescue of Ken, Wonderboy of London!
I guess they didn't enjoy Ken's movie, and told him so. Hope he was wearing his "stabvest"
Where were Ken's bodyguards, surely he has some, everybody needs them in London these days.

Smells of a set up. It happened in a very public place with journos in attendance by chance. Yes, very clearly out of the blue situation that makes Livingstone look human.
